Loraine Mckinney Johnson was born and raised in Goodwater, Alabama. She is the daughter of the late Mr. Isaac and Evangelist Annie Laura Mckinney. She has eleven siblings and is married to Kevin Lamar Johnson since 1995. The two have six children and ten grandkids. She received a Bachelor Of Social Work degree from Jacksonville State University and a Masters of Science and Psychology degree from Troy University. As a result of her education, she is currently a Senior Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Alabama.

Loraine is very passionate about the S.W.A.N.S., which is a sisterhood that she  established in 2015, for ladies ages 35 and above. She later introduced the Swanzettes in 2019, a sisterhood and mentoring program for girls ages 12 and above.

Finally, she is the proud author of Married to Fear, A Testimony of Abuse and Redemption.
